The Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit sets sail for round two in Puntaldia, sparking excitement for a weekend of high-performance racing against Sardinia's spectacular north-eastern coastline backdrop.

Sardinia’s Marina di Puntaldia and Yacht Club Marina Puntaldia are all set to host the second round of the Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit. The fleet arrives here after a robust opening season event, veering towards one of the Mediterranean circuit’s most breathtaking locations. Teams eagerly anticipate an impressive display against the magnificent landscape of Sardinia’s northeastern coastline.

Preparing for the next stage of the circuit, competitors have been honing their skills and strategies all week in Puntaldia, despite the Mistral winds sweeping across the region. The weather forecast for the weekend promises improved sailing conditions and a reinvigorated competition. The racing will kick-start midday on Friday.

Complementing the intense sailing competition, a series of onshore activities will enhance the Puntaldia experience. Daily after-race paddock gatherings, a crew party at Il Marino Restaurant on Saturday, and the final prize-giving at the Regatta Village on Sunday will bring competitors closer together.

A formidable international fleet from Europe, including teams from Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and more, will compete in Puntaldia. Round 1 champions Alessandro Rombelli’s ‘Stig,’ bolstered by their victory in Porto Cervo, return to defend their crown. The rivalry with second-placed Michael Wilson’s ‘Shotgunn’ offers a captivating contest for the fans.

Adding an interesting twist to the competition, Cape Performance Sailing’s ‘Hatari’ announces the arrival of their brand-new Cape 31 in Puntaldia. Bolstered by Nic Asher and an experienced crew, the fleet will keenly observe ‘Hatari’’s performance against the established frontrunners. Joining them are teams like K-Force Jr, Squirt and Black Pearl, which makes the Cape 31 Mediterranean fleet even more competitive and varied.

Highly decorated professional sailors, including Olympic medalists, seasoned international campaigners, and world champions like Luke Patience, Stu Bithell, and Zsombor Berecz, escalate the competition’s intensity.

With Puntaldia promising an ideal blend of competition and weather, the stage is set for another exhilarating chapter in the 2026 Cape 31 Mediterranean Series.
