Published: 07 May 2026
Think back to the nail-biting action and the swirling, ecstatic energy of the Jervis Bay Classic 2026 at Vincentia Sailing Club.

One week from the third edition of the Vincentia Sailing Club’s revered Jervis Bay Classic, it came as a surprise, not just the idyllic weather, but also the impressive turnout and the zealous energy encapsulating the Moona Moona over the ANZAC long weekend – announcing the conclusion of the staple sailing season. 71 distinctive boats launched over the weekend, navigate through untouched champagne sailing conditions. A congratulatory mention and heartfelt thanks are due for the unyielding volunteers from VSC, for yet again, delivering a spectacle that’s beyond comparison. The anticipation for the Nationals is sky-high. The weekend was packed with excitement and competitions. The Australian Championships for the nimble F16s, saw the participation of 11 boats racing. Coinciding with this, the NSW Hobie Cat Association culminated its 25/26 Traveller Series, a reflection of nine thunderous events spanning across the season, the opener being the WaveGP Championships at VSC back in September. As customary, the regatta kick-started on ANZAC Day with the Round the Bay Rally, a long-haul, passage-style competition around the cardinal marks within the Moona Moona. Buoyed by a tranquil nor’east sea breeze, the rally opted for the enticing “Callala Run”. The adept Bryn Robinson-Mills took an early lead, followed by emerging talent, Emma Webb. The race soon transformed into a thrilling chase with Bridget Bolewski, Andrew Spinelli, and Darren Schmidt powering down to Husky. Stealing the show was Jarrod Spencer, leading the pack on the foiling A-Class, transcending others on his course towards the Callala mark. As the riveting ordeal unfolded, the adrenaline surge was equally shared by the bustling spectators, awestruck by the summer-like setting in autumn, the action-packed short courses and the fierce challenges faced by the determined contestants on the north end of the bay.
