In a highly anticipated move, Dutch marine giants Damen Yachting have announced the successful handover of ‘Rafter’, the fourth cutting-edge superyacht from their acclaimed YS53 series. Now embarking on her maiden voyage from the company’s shipyards in Antalya, Turkey, Rafter is geared for a substantial role in her owner’s private aquatic odyssey.

Conceived as a tactical addition to the owner’s already impressive superyacht fleet, Rafter was meticulously devised to deliver supplementary space, steadfast support, and unrivalled flexibility for the ultimate family sailing experience. Designed wholly by Damen Yachting’s accomplished in-house team, the vessel’s design - encompassing both exterior and interior aspects - signifies an ideal blend of practicality and personal style influences, drawing heavily from vintage England aesthetics.

Rafter’s unique design and structure serve to underscore its laudable support capabilities. The impressive 200-square-metre open main deck, characterised by the presence of a robust 15-tonne crane, facilitates effortless handling of submersibles, large tenders, and other heavyweight equipment. A meticulously bolstered deck, simultaneously, serves as the ideal touch-down zone for helicopter operations.

The state-of-the-art yacht encompasses a comfortable performance in unpredictable sea conditions thanks to its ‘wave-slicing axe’ bow. The inclusion of forward-raking windows aids in enhanced visibility, and pronounced spray rails protect the sensitive onboard equipment from saltwater. Inside, the yacht houses accommodation facilities for eight guests along with provision for a 10-member crew, including the captain.
