Published: 26 May 2026
Embracing innovation in design and fuel technology, German shipbuilder Lürssen is sculpting the future of super yachting with its latest vessels.

Lürssen, the renowned German shipbuilder, is carving out new depths in the yachting cosmos with its dazzling technology-enabled offerings. It’s not just about luxury and aesthetics; it’s more about fostering innovation and embracing future-forward technologies. Among its recent breakthroughs are a fuel-cell powered superyacht and another that has embarked on sea trials, both adding a rich seam of excitement to the marine landscape.

This glass engineering marvel required customised solutions to bend thick glass panes for offering panoramic views. The incredible complexity was dealt with by conducting multiple prototype bending and lamination tests on full-sized mock-ups. The result, as evident, speaks volumes about the shipyard’s expert craftsmanship and dedication.

Nausicaä’s continuity of the glass theme and attention to detail is on full display with a continuous band of glass encasing the upper level to ensure uninterrupted vistas. The aesthetic appeal is further enhanced by an uninterrupted ribbon of glass.

Meanwhile, another Lürssen gem, the 102.4-metre superyacht hull 13785, also previously known as Jassj, has stepped out for sea trials, sparking excitement in the marine circle. Spotted en route to the Baltic Sea, this steel and aluminium motor yacht prides itself on its British design studio RWD’s interior and exterior design. Its sea trials mark a critical moment, demonstrating Lürssen’s dedication to ensuring its yachts are ready to offer the best possible sailing experiences.

These milestones continue to shape Lürssen’s legacy, and most importantly, the future of the super yachting industry.
