Setting & Character
Horning strings along a bend of the Bure between Wroxham and the Ant junction. It is one of the prettiest stretches on the river and one of the busiest, so slow down early — the speed limit is signed and wash carries into the moored boats.
Bridges & Air Draught
There are no bridges at Horning. Upstream the next obstacle is Wroxham Bridge (2.18 m at average high water); downstream the Ant branches off towards Ludham Bridge (2.60 m).
Figures are Broads Authority clearances at average high water — read the gauge boards on the day.

Tides
The Broads are tidal as far up as Norwich, Wroxham and Stalham. Use the Broads Authority tide table for Gorleston (Yarmouth Bar) and add the inland difference.
At Horning, high water is about 4 h 00 min after Gorleston (Broads Authority average figures).
This guide does not copy tide heights. Not for navigation.
