About the club
The Royal Lymington Yacht Club stands on the banks of the Lymington River, a few minutes' walk from Lymington town and within the New Forest. It caters for sailors, motorboaters and watersports enthusiasts. Its programme includes Solent racing, cruising and rallies, RYA training for sail and power, and junior activities such as Mariners, RIB Club and fleet racing.
Facilities
The clubhouse has a restaurant, a bar and a terrace with views of the river and the Solent. There are changing rooms and showers, function rooms and a chart room with a large library. Boatmen are on hand 364 days a year. The crane lifts boats up to 9.2 m (30 ft) and 2 tonnes, there is a launch service to river moorings, and members can use pontoons with water and shore power.
Arriving by boat
The club notes that Lymington Harbour can be entered by day or night at all states of the tide by boats drawing up to about 2.5 m. The channel is marked by red piles to port and green to starboard, starting at the Jack in the Basket beacon. Watch out for the Isle of Wight ferries, which use the same channel. Visiting boaters and rallies are welcome; contact the club in advance.

Full Membership needs two proposers who have been members for more than two years. Provisional Membership gives newcomers 12 months with full access before they are proposed.
