The stage is set for the third event of the 2026 44Cup season in Marstrand, with all eyes on GeMera Racing - the current series leader.

The 2026 44Cup leaps back into action with its third event, drawing an elaborate fleet of high-performance one-designs to the idyllic island of Marstrand on the rugged west coast of Sweden. Supported by Artemis Technologies and Marstrands Segelsällska, the event draws the ire of anticipation from yachting enthusiasts across the globe.

Torbjörn Törnqvist, owner of Artemis Racing, watches eagerly as his team lies sixth on the leaderboard after the season’s first two events. ‘Marstrand is indeed a special place’, he muses, ‘It’s not just about winning, it’s ensuring everyone has a great time and the sailing is good’.

Following GeMera is Hugues Lepic and Pietro Loro Piana’s Aleph Racing, Vladimir Prosikhin’s Team Nika, John Bassadone’s Peninsula Racing and Chris Bake’s Team Aqua, all promising to deliver a challenge worthy of the 44cup. Holding sixth place on nine points, is past Marstrand-winner, Team Charisma led by Nico Poons.

Defending Marstrand, champions are Team Nika, who won the event in 2025 on their course to become that year’s overall 44Cup winners. With such a concentrated cauldron of competition, the 44Cup Marstrand promises to be a charged racing spectacle, teeming with anticipation and rewards for the sailor and spectator alike.
