Rising Sailing Stars Emerge as 22 Teenagers Graduate from the Acclaimed Junior Sailing Summer Program by St. Thomas Sailing Center.
The fourth annual Junior Sailing Summer Program run by the St. Thomas Sailing Center witnessed the graduation of 22 skilled young sailors, underlining the success of this innovative initiative.
Once merely a crucible of 14 spirited individuals, the Junior Sailing Summer Program currently hosted by the St. Thomas Sailing Center has witnessed remarkable growth over the years. This summer alone, it welcomed 30 aspiring sailors, including 22 who recently graduated, a clear testimonial of the initiative's immense success.
Launched under the auspices of the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association's (VIPCA) non-profit arm, the Marine Rebuild Fund, the program has flourished with annual sponsorship of $25,000 from RapierMed LLC, a local healthcare investment group. This generous support coupled with the center’s commitment has enabled nearly 70 students from public schools of the U.S. Virgin Islands to graduate from the program since its initiation.
Located in proximity to Red Hook and housed at the St. Thomas Yacht Club, the St. Thomas Sailing Center takes immense pride in fostering young sailors' skills, facilitating their growth and development into competent sailors. The exploits of these 22 new graduates symbolize the incredible value this program brings in and its invaluable contribution to sailing, both as a competitive sport and a lifestyle.

What this means on the water
This story matters only if it helps sailors, owners, clubs, marinas and readers make better decisions afloat or ashore. The new point should be the named event, result, boat, notice, place or change in the report above, not the shine around it. Old Sea Dogs treats press releases and organiser statements as a starting point, then looks for the practical detail: dates, entry rules, berthing, costs, crew impact, safety notes and what readers should check next. What remains uncertain is the usual waterfront mix of weather, final notices, availability, pricing and how a claim holds up once people arrive. Use this piece as a pointer, then check the linked source before making plans.
