The Düsseldorf Boat Show was graced with an exquisite addition, as Boarnstream Yachting revealed their latest steel marvel, the Boarncruiser Ocean 53 Sport. With over 60 years of experience working tirelessly to perfect the art of steel yacht building, the Dutch firm presented a splendid spectacle with this fully steel, Category A, long-distance motor yacht that addresses the seemingly contradicting requirements of toughness and luxury with flair.
Sporting a semi-displacement hull crafted for comfort and efficiency, the Ocean 53 Sport is powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7L engines, promising power levels between 305 and 480hp. The ingenious implementation of a Hull Vane, a submerged wing at the transom, incorporates a touch of lift at the aft end, reducing sea pitching, enhancing efficiency, decreasing wake size, and improving stability throughout the rev range. Not least, it helps propel the vessel to Boarnstream’s target speed of 16 knots.
The yacht's dynamism is balanced elegantly with practical deck layouts designed for sea enthusiasts. It features an L-shaped unit placed to the ship's port and linear cabinetry located at the starboard side, divided by a central walkway. An expansive U-shaped dinette adorns the cockpit, ideal for freestanding furniture. Descending the starboard staircase takes one to the lower decks, arranged around an owner’s cabin, a VIP chamber, a bunk room, and twin bathrooms.
However, more than just its appeal and functionality, the Ocean 53 Sport has been designed with attention to accessibility and customization. The focus is unmistakably on easy navigation and storage. But, while the hull and superstructure remain constant, practically everything else can be customized to the owner's preference, from interior layouts and materials to technical components.
The Boarncruiser Ocean 53 Sport demonstrates that the essence of yachting goes beyond pure extravagance. It is about the marriage of capability, comfort, and individuality, creating an unparalleled marine traveling experience.
