The 37m Benetti motor yacht Kos has finished an extensive, elaborate refit at Lusben's shipyard in Viareggio, Italy adding a new lease of life to the stylish vessel.

The Benetti motor yacht Kos, with a reputable length of 37 meters, has recently emerged from an eclectic and extensive refit courtesy of the celebrated Lusben shipyard in Viareggio, Italy. Over a span of six months, the motor yacht has been fine-tuned and upgraded from bow to stern, with components ranging from structural modifications to onboard systems receiving a comprehensive makeover. All these intensive efforts were directed towards one singular goal, bolstering the on-board experience while proportionally extending the ship’s service breadth.

The team propelling this refit’s success deserves much acclaim. Lusben’s project management ensemble, artisan craftsmen, technical specialists, and renowned interior designer Laura Rossi all played their specific vital roles in steering the ambitious programme to completion.

Among the many challenges that the team faced, fully repainting Kos’ hull and superstructure was particularly demanding. The hard work paid off, with the final glossy finish reflecting near-new-build standards. Elsewhere, her teak decks were completely restored, and the sundeck Jacuzzi was taken out to leave room for extra usable space. Interior redesign embarked on a path of light, fluidity, and visual continuity with strategies such as replacing opaque surfaces in corridors with satin-finished glass panels.

Laura Rossi, reflecting on the project, beautifully encapsulated the essence of the refit. She said, ‘The project was to lighten, simplify and enhance the yacht’s original identity, creating areas that are brighter, more fluid and more natural to experience every day.’ Lusben has also executed extensive improvement operations on other key onboard systems and engines, aiming to elevate reliability, safety, and operational continuity. General manager of Lusben, Ferdinando Pilli, acknowledged the refit’s success as he stated that the project essentially encapsulated the essence of Lusben’s 70 years of experience and craftsmanship.
