Construction Articles
Italian masters of maritime construction, ISA Yachts, have kicked-off their latest venture: building the third yacht in their Unica 45M Steel series, scheduled for deployment in 2029. Innovatively designed for extended blue water journeys, this megayacht offers a rare mix of substantial fuel capacity, in excess of 60,000 litres, and a high-displacement, steel hull.
One of the defining attributes of this vessel is its distinctive stern design spread over three cascading levels, replete with sun lounging spaces, an infinity cockpit, and a plush pool. The highlight? Incredible ocean views through an elegant glass balustrade.
Vitters Shipyard on the Verge of Making History with the In-Build 63m Sailing Yacht, Project Dreamer
Vitters Shipyard, the famed Dutch yacht manufacturer, recently shared encouraging progress on their custom-built 63-meter sloop sailing yacht, Project Dreamer. The sailboat, which began its construction journey in Zwartsluis, the Netherlands, is six months into its initial keel laying ceremony. With an intricately designed aluminium structure, the build now stands well on its way to completion.
Owner aspirations were ambitious but clear-cut: to craft the most significant flybridge yacht possible, whilst remaining under the monolithic 500GT. The demand for a complex and sizeable build has necessitated the division of the project into several sections which were meticulously constructed in an unconventional upside-down fashion. The critical milestone set for later this year involves turning the hull of the vessel.
