The first hull of CL Yachts' groundbreaking 29.5-metre CLX96 motor yacht has been sold and renamed 'Reunion', a testament to sleek design and supreme luxury.

CL Yachts, a brand born from the esteemed Chinese shipyard Cheoy Lee in 2017, has made waves by selling its first 29.5-metre CLX96 motor yacht. The luxury yacht, now christened ‘Reunion’, symbolises a revolutionary shift in yachting design and a nod to the new age of luxury sea travel.

The sale was brokered with David Johnson from Denison Yachting representing the buyer, while Panu Virtanen of CL Yachts represented the seller. ‘Reunion’ was delivered in 2022 and showcases a wealth of grandeur and superior sea capabilities.

A trailblazer in his field, the boat’s designer Jozeph Forakis is known for marrying functionality with artistic flair. In ‘Reunion’, his unique rugged profile combines with a commitment to versatility and high performance, all without compromising on style. It’s an effect that truly redefines the idea of a luxury motor yacht.

Entering the saloon from the aft deck - considered the ultimate al fresco dining spot - the boat offers long sightlines through an open-plan dining area, a sleek galley, and a champagne lounge with stunning views ahead. The extensive use of carbon fibre in the yacht’s construction allows for structural beams and window mullions minimising intrusion on natural light, creating a well-lit, elegant interior.

For those who relish their time in the sun, two distinct social areas - the ‘Terrazza Portoghese’ or Portuguese bridge, and the circular seating zone named ‘Piazza del Sole’ add a distinctive charm. The ‘Piazza del Sole’ easily converts into loungers for relaxation. Towards the boat’s rear, twin stairs lead down to a significant swim platform, featuring a fold-out ‘Z-lift’ platform, all clad in teak and perfect for launching the tender.

Powered by twin 1,900hp Caterpillar diesel engines, ‘Reunion’ boasts a cruising speed of 22 knots and a maximum speed of 25 knots. Whether it’s the unique design, the versatility of use, or the generous speed, ‘Reunion’ is undoubtedly setting a high bar for other creators in the industry. It gives a glimpse into the future of luxury yachting and sets a benchmark for what luxury can truly mean in the world of sailing.
