The 17th edition of the Taittinger Royal Solent Yacht Club Regatta was nothing short of memorable, as the event unfolded in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Over the weekend, 198 boats went head-to-head, testing their skills against the Western Solent’s capricious waters.
Day one saw both Black and White Groups begin their first race off the Mainland shore, with conditions that some might call challenging, but any seasoned sailor would call invigorating. Strong WSW breezes ranging from 19-23 knots and an uncomfortable deep swell, courtesy of the last hours of the ebbing tide, marked the start line for both groups.
Lit by the Italian sun and caressed by perfect wind conditions that sailors dream of, the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2025 thrillingly began in Cagliari, taking the fleet of Figaro3 boats on a 165-mile adventure to La Maddalena. It marked the penultimate stage of a tour rife with combativeness, camaraderie, and charm, set to end grandly in Genoa on July 11th. WASZP and WING categories hit the water with infectious enthusiasm, preparing for thrilling regattas lined up ahead as they sparked a surge of energy amongst the spectators.
