Biotherm, a French-flagged IMOCA, has skilfully sailed to victory in the final leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025, securing their overall dominance.

In a stunning display of strategy and skill, France’s Paul Meilhat and his team aboard the IMOCA Biotherm have emerged victorious in the fifth and final stage of The Ocean Race Europe 2025. Embarking from Genova, Italy, and completing the 1,600-nautical mile leg at Boka Bay in Montenegro, Biotherm’s mastery of the water saw them finish in just over seven days. Sealing an impressive win in the overall 4,500-nautical mile race around Europe, Biotherm’s dominant performance saw them collect seven points in the overall standings. They were victors of the first, second, third legs, and even bagged the maximum Scoring Gate points. Despite taking the third slot in Leg 4, the French team finished with an unassailable 48 points. Their remarkable feat of sailing prowess, resilience, and tactical skill crowned them champions of The Ocean Race Europe 2025. The race proved challenging, yet exciting, as the teams traversed intricate routes down the western side of Corsica and Sardinia, south of Sicily, and finally up into the Adriatic Sea on the course to Boka Bay. After initially struggling with ultra-light wind conditions, the crew later faced near-constant thunderstorms. However, these tribulations did not hinder the Biotherm’s voyage, and the team relished in spectacular, super-fast foiling sailing at speeds reaching up to 34 knots. Biotherm demonstrated a savvy strategy, tactically covering their rivals and breaking free only to lead around the penultimate turning mark after passing Sicily. Despite the Paprec Arkéa’s daring breakaway attempt during the final 24 hours, the Biotherm team stuck resolutely to their game plan and finished in style. On victory, an ecstatic Meilhat praised his crew and shore team, attributing success to their incredible preparation and teamwork. He emphasised that the heart of the Biotherm team was formed during the 2022-23 round-the-world edition of The Ocean Race, where they gained invaluable skills and knowledge to tackle this year’s challenges. Their sensational victory in The Ocean Race Europe 2025 confirms the Biotherm crew’s place amongst the exceptional elite in sailing, marking a significant milestone in their ongoing sailing journey.
