Two fantastic sailing events set the waters alight: The Welstead September Yawl Open, Blue Fleet and HD Sails Scottish Solo Travellers event at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club.

The world of sailing held its breath for two mesmerizing events recently, each charging the salty sea breeze with fervor and anticipation. The Welstead September Yawl Open - Blue Fleet was up first, where sunny weather caressed the waters and light winds whistled a promising melody. With a record entry of 18 boats, competition was as hot as the simmering sun.

Mark and Phil (Y17) took an early lead in the first race, challenged closely by several other competitive boats. An intense tacking duel broke off as the boaters raced en route to Gerston. The Commodores Barge managed to extend its lead and triumphed in the first race.

The Scottish Solo Travellers event at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club followed, marking the conclusion of the much-followed 2025 series. It was not just a part of the Club’s Regatta, but also the northern series of Sailjuice. Though just six boats made their mark on the waters for the last event, the challenging routes and thrilling competition brought an edge-of-the-seat climax to an incredible series.

Both events knit together an enchanting tale of sailing greatness, strategy, and high spirited rivalry, woven together with warm camaraderie and the bracing thrill of the sea. It was a true testament to the allure of sailing, with the open sea serving as their challenging, yet inviting, playground.
