Performance Racer and Luxury Cruiser: The Wally Sloop Sailing Yacht Galma Finds a New Home
A new chapter in nautical history begins as the 28.6-metre Wally sloop sailing yacht Galma transitions to new ownership. With a design penned by icons of the industry: Germán Frers, Luca Bassani, and Wally, the yacht models a delicate blend of performance and luxury.
Built in 2003, Galma was crafted in lightweight carbon fibre, furnished with a generous sail plan, and built as a performance racer. The prestigious yacht has an illustrious past, participating in prominent regattas such as the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Porto Cervo, Italy, and has been prudently maintained ever since her substantial refit in 2008.
On the coveted deck, the yacht hosts a spacious guest cockpit offering a tranquil setting for enjoying cocktails or dining, shaded by a removable awning, while a section of the transom gracefully folds down to create a swim platform in the water. Her mast and both racing and cruising booms underwent a facelift in 2016-2017.
Driven by her 240hp Yanmar engine, Galma sails effortlessly at 10 knots with an impressive 800-nautical-mile range. The yacht flaunts a top speed of 12 knots, making her a perfect blend of luxury and performance.
Galma, with her rich history and impressive make, has finally found a new caretaker, signing off at a last asking price of €2,200,000. The new owner has not just acquired a yacht, but a piece of nautical history that will continue to leave a timeless impact in the world of sailing and luxury yachts.
