Revolutionizing Onboard Architecture: Italian Shipyard Sanlorenzo Unveils the Bold and Innovative 74Steel Superyacht 'Virtuosity'
Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has unveiled its second in-build superyacht, Virtuosity, from its flagship 74Steel line. Once launched, the feature-filled Virtuosity promises to stamp its prominence as the shipyard’s largest build to date. Spanning an impressive 73 metres, this superyacht is a follow-up to the first 74Steel superyacht, the Silver Fox. The craft, designed by Zuccon International Project, saw launch in October of last year. Virtuosity will share similar infrastructural elements, such as the engineered platform and diesel-electric configuration pioneered by its predecessor. Yet, Virtuosity leaps one step ahead on the innovation scale, introducing features ’never seen before on a superyacht,’ according to the yard. Some of its outstanding characteristics include a living banyan tree growing between decks, a submerged aquarium integrated into the hull, and a vast 230-square-metre ‘Ocean Resort.’
Engaging in four years of robust dialogue and extensive cooperation with the yacht’s owner, this bespoke masterpiece was born. Sanlorenzo embarked on this project since 2022, aiming for a release date within the same year. Sanlorenzo’s CEO, Tommaso Vincenzi, emphasised the revolutionary approach to onboard architecture, with every feature conceived from a clear architectural vision that embodied coherence and balance, rather than mere excess. The Ficus Nitida tree within the main deck exemplifies this approach. This botanical masterpiece, carefully selected for its growth criteria, will rise through an oval void between decks. The carefully-designed interiors, including the main saloon and guest areas, curve around this tree, lending to a unique chunk of nature on board the superyacht.
The design flows seamlessly into other areas of the yacht with intricate details similarly found in guest rooms, lounges and the custom wine cellar. With an ability to accommodate up to 16 guests with a crew of 24, Virtuosity is indeed a grand symbol of opulence and architectural charm at sea. Painstakingly detailed and uniquely conceived, Sanlorenzo’s Virtuosity stands as a testament to the shipyard’s commitment towards pushing the boundaries of superyacht design.
