Classic Superyacht Gin-Tonic Arrives at Pendennis Shipyard – Undergoes Transformation

The legendary Feadship motor yacht Gin-Tonic embarks on a journey of significant transformation at Pendennis shipyard in Cornwall.

Famed British shipyard Pendennis welcomes the arrival of classic 41.7-metre Feadship motor yacht, Gin-Tonic. The elegant superyacht is poised to undergo a significant refit programme. Touted as a ‘complete transformation,’ the upcoming works promise radical improvements, enhancing both performance and on-board living space. The transformation won’t just be cosmetic, but structural, featuring extensions to the stern and bridge deck.

Adding to the structural enhancements, Pendennis plans to install two new main engines, simultaneously restoring the exterior with a comprehensive paint application for both her hull and superstructure. Set out in multiple phases, the initial refit is expected to stretch until early 2027.

Gin-Tonic holds a rich history, having initially been delivered by Dutch shipyard Feadship in 1981. This colossal vessel was one of three commissioned by the same owner in the 1980s. Frits De Voogt was at the helm of the yacht’s exterior design and naval architecture, with British designer Mark Whiteley bringing the interiors to life. The thrilling news of this extensive refit comes following Gin-Tonic’s sale to new owners in December last year. This transformation promises to revive an iconic classic, ensuring she proudly continues her legacy on the open waves.
