Blade II, the 44.7m MMGI Motor Yacht, Emerges as Masterpiece with 18-Month Overhaul
An exceptional feat in the world of luxury yachts has been achieved - the MMGI motor yacht, Blade II, has completed an extensive 18-month refit at the renowned Arpeca Shipyard in Viareggio, Italy. The meticulous refurbishment has not only maintained but considerably upgraded the yacht’s status among its peers.
The Blade II has seen gifts of innovation in the form of notable technical and aesthetic modifications. For starters, full reconstruction of the crew quarters and pilothouse was undertaken, complemented by the addition of brand new galley, pantry and lift. The exterior has been refurbished to a state of modern allure, trading the original white superstructure for a dark blue, uniform veneer. Complete with a reflective bootstripe and matching outdoor furniture, the design denotes a contemporary, smooth feel.
On the technical front, the Blade II has seen widespread enhancements. All electronics — navigation, surveillance and entertainment systems have been modernised with the latest technology. Additionally, essential maintenance for propulsion, plumbing, and air conditioning systems was undertaken to ensure top-notch performance. Even the yacht’s custom-made Castoldi tender has undergone a refit to stay in sync with the mother ship.
Delivered in 2010 as the flagship build for MMGI, Blade II showcases a trim, powerboat-inspired exterior crafted by the adept Italian studio Navirex. It’s an impressive silhouette that boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a top speed exceeding 30 knots, and a main deck that cleverly lowers to water level. With this unprecedented overhaul said and done, the yacht is now up for sale with Smart Yachts, and prospective owners can preview the masterpiece in Monaco.
