Discover the Beneteau Gran Turismo 50: A Bold and Distinctive Rearrangement of Classic Sportscruiser Elements

Published: 20 Mar 2026
Beneteau breaks the mould with their new Gran Turismo 50, opting for a return to classic sportscruiser features over bigger size boat.

Debuting at the Dusseldorf show, the Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 made a splash, showcasing a modern reinterpretation of the classic sportscruiser model. Striking a perfect balance between elegance and functionality, this new model became the showstopper, grabbing the headline as the new flagship of the Gran Turismo range.

Eschewing the majority’s trend towards inflated size, the Gran Turismo 50 is a testament to Beneteau’s evolutionary vision. It harkens back to the underpinnings of what made sportscruisers a beloved class - beauty, a lowered roofline and an abundance of outdoor living space. Its standout appearance, embellished further by the Alpine edition’s midnight blue hue and carbon fibre detailing, drew attention to its elegant, flowing lines and refreshed profile.

One striking feature is the recessed seating area, a welcome adornment to the foredeck sun pads, which fuels the feeling of a more sophisticated bow-rider. With an enclosed deck saloon that provides panoramic views of the cockpit from the long bar at its aft and cushioned by a compact but comfortably furnished helm, the GT50 caters to both private and social settings.

In line with the vessel’s low deck and roofline, the full-beam owner’s cabin finds itself in the foreship, providing sufficient light, space and headroom for a luxurious experience. A small single cabin is tucked to port alongside a sizeable twin/double cabin to starboard, maximizing space efficiently.

The Beneteau Gran Turismo 50’s design explores a bold approach in a world where size is a significant selling point. With its contribution to the evolution of classic sportscruisers, the GT50 signifies a triumph that Beneteau deserves to revel in.
