On a breezy spring day at Downs Sailing Club, located in Deal, the exciting annual opening of the Kent Schools Sailing Association (KSSA) season – known as the Opening Splash – took place. In doing so, it set the stage for an early-season test for sailors and set the tone for what to expect during the NSSA National Youth Regatta slated for later in the summer.

The clever structuring served as a magnet for budding sailors while keeping the competition intense for experienced trailblazers. The turnout across the region was impressive, with Downs SC seeing a commendable representation of enthusiastic sailors.
