After seven months of meticulous and attentive refurbishment, the stunning 45-metre motor yacht Awatea by Royal Hakvoort has been re-launched at Balk Shipyard, the renowned shipbuilder based in the Netherlands. It’s not the first time that Awatea has impressed the maritime world; she was first delivered by Royal Hakvoort in 2008, a masterstroke of design by Cor D. Rover, and remains the fourth largest yacht ever produced by the eminent Dutch yard.
This comprehensive refit involved a series of technical upgrades, including the servicing of essential equipment such as engines and generators, watermaker, sewage treatment plant, and other major works. The yacht was additionally enhanced with an advanced HVAC system, new radars, depth and speed sensors, and a full upgrade of the AMS and PMCS systems. The lighting system received an upgrade as well, to enhance the ambiance on board.
Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) continues to impress the marine world with their latest release – the 43m explorer yacht, Babbo. Sporting a custom interior design by seasoned designer Francesco Paszkowski and naval architecture by Hydro Tec, the Babbo is a reflection of unparalleled mastery. With a staggering 499GT of internal volume and an 8.7-metre beam, she easily stands out in the burgeoning fleet of explorer yachts.
After its delivery in September 2024, the Babbo voyaged several thousand miles, earning praise from its owners who have been deeply gratified with the project outcome. The owners, seasoned sailors, admire the vessel’s reliable performance, thoughtful design, and the precious moments it enables their family to share on the open sea.
