Sailing enthusiasts recently rendezvoused at Hythe and Weecher Sailing Clubs, participating in spectacular championship races, showcasing their exceptional navigation skills and sportsmanship.

At the Hythe and Saltwood Sailing Club, the 7th round of the British Contender Association Travellers’ Trophy took place amidst much anticipation and fervour. The participants, notably those who had recently returned from the breathtaking World Championship at Malcesine on Lake Garda, were treated to favourable sailing conditions, with an ideal breeze for launch and recovery.

Adrian Smith, Simon Mussell, and Ed Presley led the pack in the initial phase of the race which started under a slightly overcast sky. Compelling tussles for the lead ensued with potential infringements raising eyebrows. The race witnessed thrills and spills, with some sailors navigating the wrong way, but Smith managed to sail straight into second place. Though placings fluctuated, the skippers docking in the first five retained their positions until the end - culminating in an exhilarating finish.
