The Window For Early Bird Registration for the Prestigious 87th Queen's Cup is Rapidly Closing. Act promptly!

Published: 25 Apr 2026
Here is their final call to register for the coveted 87th Queen's Cup; the deadline for early bird registrations is just around the corner.

The 87th Queen’s Cup, a cherished sailing competition, beckons sailing enthusiasts again. Organized by South Shore Yacht Club, this year’s race – a highly anticipated event within the sailing community – is opening its doors for registration. The legendary race, which will host a parade of sailing boats and yachts, is mapped from Milwaukee to Grand Haven, Michigan, and is due to take place on June 26, 2026.

Registration for this enthralling contest is currently in the early bird stage, allowing eager sailors and supporters to secure berth at preferential rates. However, the window for taking advantage of these reduced fees is rapidly closing with the cut-off slated for May 1st, 2026.

In an effort to streamline safety procedures, the Safety Checklist and Crew Overboard Drill Certificate will now be managed as two digital documents. The roles and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge (PIC) will also undergo minor adjustments, including the requirement to digitally review and sign these safety documents. The modification frees crew members from the obligation of signing the Crew Overboard Drill Certificate individually.

With dockage graciously provided by the SSYC for competitors during race week right at SSYC, reservations are not mandatory. Docking will also be accessible in Grand Haven along the seawall, with some protection offered.

Finally, certificates from rating bodies like ORC, MWPHRF, GLMRA, and One-Design will need to be uploaded to the Nautical Cloud no later than June 22, 2026.

Remember, registration fees escalate from May 2nd and late charges will be levied after June 15th, 2026. So, seize this chance, finalize your registration and prepare to set sail on an unforgettable voyage!
