The 29er Class Sailing Welcomes You to the Grandeur of the 2025 Awards
The 2025 29er Awards, recently launched by the 29er Class, widens its horizons to encompass both the adventurous spirit of the sea and the imaginative souls that dwell within the sailing community. Designed to celebrate the sailors, coaches, and narratives that shaped an exceptional season, the awards go beyond acknowledging sporting excellence but also commend the unique spirit and culture of the 29er collective.
A variety of categories cater to performance aspects, celebrating individuals who made an impact on the racecourse. These categories range from the crew and coach of the year to geographical performance awards spanning Africa, Asia, Oceania, South America, North America, and Europe.
A noteworthy addition is the Creative Sailor of the Year award, selected directly by Kidzink. This award is unlike others in that public nominations or voting don’t dictate it. Instead, Kidzink independently selects a sailor who best encapsulates creativity, originality, and visual impact within the 29er community.
Nominations and voting are now underway, with the first selection round closing on November 30th. Subsequently, the 29er Class will publish the final shortlist for all award categories in early December, and final voting will occur from 1st to 18th. The announcement of the winners will add a dash of excitement and cheer to December, right before the Christmas holidays.
In essence, the 29er Awards 2025 celebrates and shines a spotlight on the multi-faceted personalities in 29er, acknowledging that sailing, at its heart, is not just about adventure and speed, but also about stories, ideas, and impactful connections.
