An Inside Look at the Meserret Yacht's Stunning Reinvention, Rechristened as 'Arriva'

The classic 39.3-metre motor yacht Meserret steps into a bold new era, sailing under a new name, Arriva, following a ground breaking sale.

The breathtaking, 39.3-metre motor yacht, known as Meserret, underwent a phenomenal change when it caught the eye of a buyer represented by Marcel Busse from Yachtzoo. The finality of the sale marked a significant event in the yacht’s history, as she was given a new identity – ‘Arriva’. This classic beauty was orchestrated into existence in 1981, by the renowned Spanish shipyard Astilleros Armón. Crafted in steel, she was moulded to a design by Paolo Scanu, with Don Francisco Diaz Madarro overseeing the naval architecture. However, Arriva’s most coveted feature remains her distinctive canoe-sterndesign. Arriva, then known as Meserret, underwent a complete transformation between 2001 and 2002, with a full interior and exterior overhaul. Fast-forwarding to 2020, she enjoyed an extensive refit including the installation of zero-speed stabilisers. She emerged from these revamps with a shroud of elegance, declared charter-ready. Last listed for €3,400,000, Arriva accommodates 12 guests within her six luxurious en suite cabins. The two most plush cabins, the master suite and VIP, are located on the main deck. The lower deck houses a second VIP and three twin cabins. Accommodations are also made for a crew of seven. Reflecting her classic exterior, Arriva’s interior remains just as regal. Rich teak panelling is awakened by light fabrics and Pastel soft furnishings, the expansive spaces further punctuated by multiple wide windows across each deck. Possessing classic woodwork blended with contemporary amenities, this stunner strikes the perfect balance. Arriva’s main deck hosts comfortable living areas, from the cosy sofa space of the main saloon to the large aft deck with built-in sofas that perfectly trace the curve of the stern. On the upper deck, guests can luxuriate in the U-shaped lounge and dining area beneath a large awning, while the inside houses a secondary saloon. Forward on the deck, additional seating invites passengers to soak in the views over the bow during cruising. The sundeck, proudly clinging to a Jacuzzi nestled between sun pads, provides an ideal spot for guests to bask in. The sale and transformation of the familiar favourite, Meserret, into ‘Arriva’ is demonstrative of the evolution, versatility, and boundless potential in the world of yachting.
