Under Arrest and Under Management: The Royal Romance Superyacht Shifts to Croatia for Essential Maintenance

Published: 23 Jun 2025
The seized superyacht, Royal Romance, is preparing for a voyage to Trogir, Croatia, all for mandatory technical maintenance.

In the world of grand seafaring vehicles, few vessels capture the imagination quite like a superyacht. One such floating spectacle, the 92.5-meter yacht named ‘Royal Romance’, seized in the maritime nation of Croatia in 2022, is set to make a temporary voyage to the historically rich port of Trogir. The purpose? Mandatory technical maintenance to ensure the vessel remains in peak condition. The impressive move was officially announced on 16 June by Ukraine’s National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), the authoritative entity that oversees the yacht’s current disposition.

Once the Royal Romance is back in Split, ARMA plans to consult with the Prosecutor General’s Office. The intention is to resurrect efforts to sell the valuable asset under Ukrainian law, as clearly outlined in an official statement by the agency. The statement also reiterated that the yacht’s custody arrangement and its maintenance at a military facility will remain consistent. The message was straightforward - despite its change of scenery, the Royal Romance continues to remain ‘under arrest and under the management of ARMA’.
