RS Games Sails International: First Journey to Germany in 2026

Every four years, something stirring unfurls in the world of sailing: the RS Games. An event of camaraderie, inclusivity, and adventure, the RS Games brings together the global sailing community to celebrate all things RS. What makes 2026 exceptionally thrilling? For the first time, the Games sails out of UK waters and drops anchor at Travemünde, Germany, from 16th to 26th July. This new chapter in the Games’ legacy marks stunning adventures on the horizon.

Nestled in one of Northern Europe’s largest and iconic sailing festivals, Travemünde Woche, the 2026 RS Games offer a larger-than-life backdrop of effervescent festivities and rigorous regattas. The 2022 Games had a turnout of 713 boats and an astounding 1037 competitors- a record for a single manufacturer’s dinghy regatta. The upcoming chapter, Travemünde Woche, attracts thousands of sailors and spectators for ten days of sailing glory, challenging races, and seaside revelries.

The RS Games 2026 is no different. Set to kindle the competitive spirit across 12 classes, the event promises inclusive competition, breath-taking shoreside entertainment, and a vibrant party atmosphere. Standing tall alongside its peers are the heritage classes beautifully dubbed the ’00s’ - such as the RS100, RS200, RS800, amongst others- staging their European Championships during the event. Moreover, the RS Aero fleet hosts both their European Championships and Youth World Championships.

With four exhilarating days of thrilling racing, accompanied by RS-themed ceremonies and parties, the RS Games offers competitors a platform to demonstrate their skills and immerse themselves in a rich sailing experience. Stepping up to the occasion are the younger RS Tera and RS Feva sailors, with back-to-back World Championships scheduled, allowing ambitious sailors to participate in both single and double-handed classes.
