RYA Steps Up as Community Impact Partner for the Thrilling Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix
The build-up to the much-anticipated Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix ignites with the announcement of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as its Official Community Impact Partner. This collaboration with SailGP represents a major partnership aimed at fostering connection with the local waters.
RYA’s energetic program is a celebration of community, inclusivity, and the belief that every young person, irrespective of their background, should get an opportunity to be stirred by the ocean experiences and grasp the opportunities that life on water offers. Alongside SailGP, they are creating various programs aimed at the local youth of Portsmouth as part of their ‘Better Sport’ initiative. This includes showcasing local young wing foilers, a STEM-based challenge and elements of engagement through sport in collaboration with the 1851 Trust.
RYA’s commitment is further exemplified through the launching of its Hampshire Virtual Impact League in association with Energise Me. By bringing marine-based STEM learning right into classrooms, this initiative leaves no stone unturned in stirring curiosity and creativity among students ahead of the big race weekend.
As the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix gears up and the excitement builds, the RYA stands ready to welcome the public in their stand at the heart of the SailGP Race Village. Here they offer interactive activities, expert guidance and, significantly, facilitate connections with local clubs and training centres, ensuring that the passion for boating is nurtured and sustained. They continue to demonstrate their commitment to sharing the joy of sailing experiences with each passing wave and each heave of the mainsail.
