The ORC European Championship 2026 gains steam as Klaipeda rolls out a comprehensive hospitality program, offering exclusive discounts and a warm Lithuanian welcome to the sailors.

Warm welcome signs are set up from Klaipeda, the vibrant Lithuanian city, as it gears up to host the ORC European Championship 2026. The city has rolled out an impressive hospitality program, extending discounted accommodation and dining options to the sailing teams. Even the first 20 international teams registering get an added treat — a traditional Lithuanian dinner for their entire crew. Klaipeda, a city rooted deep in its maritime traditions since 1252, is proud to host the championship. Not only does the city provide excellent offshore racing opportunities, but its location at the heart of Lithuania also makes it a prime cruising destination. Mantas Klimantavicius, the head of the event’s organizing committee, shared, ‘We have exclusive accommodation and dining offers specifically designed for registered participants. Teams will discover Klaipeda is a truly hospitable city, with most accommodations being central or near the yacht club.’ Beyond the exclusive discount offers, the city is also preparing an exceptional shoreside program, promising a celebration of Lithuanian culture, A-level concerts featuring internationally recognized performers and a festive atmosphere throughout the week. The regatta village will double as an entertainment and education hub suitable for participating sailors and their families. Ecky von der Mosel, ORC Deputy Chairman, commented, ‘I met a professional team of event organizers in Klaipeda. They are fully committed to hosting a successful event both on and off the water. I’m really looking forward to it!’ The championship promises to be a memorable affair combining top-notch offshore racing with enriching cultural experiences ashore. Participants can look forward to exploring the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just across the lagoon from Klaipeda, accessible both by land and water. The event will also commemorate 100 fulfilling years of offshore sailing in Lithuania, fueled by a proud maritime heritage. So, get ready to sail into history!
