Turkey's Cass Yacht Design marries art with architecture in their unprecedented superyacht designs made for AES Yacht.

Turkey takes the bow as Cass Yacht Design steers the superyacht industry into uncharted waters with two avant-garde concepts for AES Yacht. These aren’t your standard yachts. The first of the duo is a sub-500GT, 50-metre masterpiece, sporting a full-beam ‘architectural approach.’ To truly appreciate the design, picture floor-to-ceiling glazing, ample private balconies, and an irresistible allure of understated elegance. Bathed in natural light, the insides merge seamlessly with the outside, creating a tranquil yet chic ambience. The 50-metre yacht is poised to redefine calmness on the water.

The second of the pair is the 70-metre concept, standing at a considerable 1,500GT of interior volume, with an edgy, futuristic silhouette. The distinguishing factor of this design is at the aft, where opening platforms unravel forming a beach house-style space beside the water. Designers have braved the unusual, creating a cylindrical pool akin to an aquarium at the foredeck cylinder entwined by a round stairwell. But it doesn’t stop there. The layout ensures ample space across decks, adaptable to varied owner lifestyles. Less is indeed more as the design favours simplicity, providing a distinct identity through stripped-back sophistication.

Yavuz Akyildiz of Cass Yacht Design believes these designs are projects completed in their own rights yet offer a myriad of customisation opportunities to prospective owners who, like them, believe ‘a ship in harbour is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.’ The designs not only reflect aesthetic brilliance but the possibility of where we could take artisanal creation within yachting if we dare to ride the wave.
