The Legacy Continues: 56m Alloy Sailing Yacht Salvaje Marks New Chapter with Recent Sale

Published: 28 May 2025
Elevating luxury in the sailing world, the expansive 56-meter Alloy yacht Salvaje has found new ownership. This showcase of naval architecture is a product of meticulous crafting and world-class design.

From port to starboard, the 56.4m sailing yacht Salvaje is a masterpiece that blends world-class craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and top-notch design. When it was originally launched in 2014 as Mondango 3, it was one of the largest builds from the esteemed New Zealand-based Alloy Yachts—with a striking elongated profile that immediately set it apart. This marvel of the seas, the work of Dubois Naval Architects, encapsulates the spirit of grandeur and adventure associated with nautical journeys. The yacht has been impeccably maintained since its launch with a significant refit in 2019 servicing everything from a new set of 3Di sails, hull repaint, to a full overhaul of its engines and rigging. Further enhancing its market value, Salvaje passed its Lloyd’s 10-year class survey in 2024. Such ongoing care and investment are a testament to the yacht’s robustness and enduring appeal. Among Salvaje’s tantalizingly luxurious features is an interior deftly designed by the British studio Reymond Langton. It can accommodate up to 11 guests in five lavish cabins, including a full-beam master suite midships. A couple of sleek doubles and twins along with an additional Pullman berth offer lavish accommodation for guests, while the crew quarters can comfortably house a staff of 10. Guests aboard Salvaje can also enjoy an array of other features, including a lifting keel for cruising in shallow waters, an aft deck spa pool, and a climate-controlled cockpit among others. For those keen on exploring the waters up close, there’s a swimming platform that unfurls from the starboard topsides. On the technical front, Salvaje showcases cutting-edge seafaring technology. A Southern Spars carbon mast and boom coupled with sails by North Sails, bow and stern TRAC thrusters, and twin Northern Lights generators reveal her power beneath her sumptuous appearance. Powering this awe-inspiring yacht is a 1,450hp Caterpillar C-32 engine that allows for a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising comfort at 12 knots, for a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 10 knots. The sale of Salvaje is more than a transaction. It marks an evolution of her story—a new chapter in her journey across the high seas, tailwind or headwind, calm or storm, marking out her path with elegance, power, and absolute poise.
