Luke and Sara Griffith embarked on a memorable summer cruise to the sublime Scilly Isles. Their nautical journey commenced at the south-west corner of St Mary’s in Porthcressa. The first day wrapped with a satisfying afternoon tea at The Atlantic pub, following a delightful stroll around the garrison.

Their adventure continued through Crow Sound, heading towards the Hats Buoy cardinal, where they set a northwest transit under the watchful gaze of the famous Gunsight rock. The Griffiths navigated their way carefully and ended up in St Helen’s Pool. Against the backdrop of a shining sun, they hopped into their tender and set off for St Martin’s. Once there, a refreshing dip in the beach was obligatory, especially for their ecstatic pet, Marmalade.

The next day brought Force 5 winds and a strong tide, but their boat, had weathered the storm splendidly. They spent the afternoon exploring the west towards Old Grimsby, steering clear of the notorious Tide Rock. The journey concluded in the idyllic harbour of Old Grimsby, capturing the essence of a perfect boating holiday-an encounter with nature’s grandeur, underpinned by life’s sweetest joys.
