ShadowCat Unveils Sentinel: A Revolutionary Support Yacht with Integrated Surveillance Tech

Published: 29 Oct 2025
ShadowCat raises the bar in maritime security, introducing Sentinel, a state-of-the-art support yacht boasting surveillance tech and 360-degree reconnaissance.

The century-old rivalry of boat designers received a thrilling twist as ShadowCat, the renowned yacht designer, unveiled Sentinel, their latest support yacht concept at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Teaming up with security giant Allmode, ShadowCat constructed this catamaran-based, 71-metre marvel to establish a ‘mobile perimeter of protection’.

The centrepiece of Sentinel’s security ensemble is an integrated surveillance suite with autonomous as well as piloted drones offering 360-degree aerial and surface reconnaissance. The airborne watchmen join forces with onboard radar and extensive range optical and thermal sensors to provide real-time situational awareness, ensuring you can relish your sea adventure without worrying about unwanted intruders.

This is not where Sentinel’s utilities stop. As a support vessel, it accommodates submersibles, tenders, sportfishing crafts, and terrestrial security vehicles, including armored SUVs. All these can be deployed swiftly via Sentinel’s hydraulic launch system. If air travel is needed, the dual certified helipads are ready to allow simultaneous operations for transfer, support, or emergency extraction.

Ensuring that professional aid is always at hand, Sentinel’s broad personnel complement accommodates teams of security and logistics professionals, technical pilots and medical professionals with high-end shore-based facility equivalent medical infrastructure.

In its design, Sentinel also accounts for protection. The vessel features reinforced compartments and stairwells for added security, cementing its value as a ‘foresighted’ vessel aimed at ensuring guest security. With Shadowcat’s Sentinel, maritime security has undoubtedly struck a new high.
