Exclusive Look: Italian Yard Columbus Yachts Unveils Inner Majesty of its First Crossover 42, Big Naan

Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, has allowed a sneak peek into the lavish interior of its first Crossover 42 model, famously known as the Big Naan. Following her much-anticipated debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, expectations have been soaring for a closer look. Sailing alongside the likes of Singolare, Project T, and Juno’s 7, she undoubtedly was one of the largest and luxurious yachts on display.

With design credits to the Italian studio Hydro Tec, the Crossover 42 exudes confidence with a ‘modern and muscular’ exterior. It incorporates a concentrated volume in the bow area, typical of explorers, and flat, tapered stern sections. The stunning yacht was sold to her fortunate American owner in 2023, thanks to Zarpo Yachts, with Trevor van Wyk acting as the owner’s representative.

The interiors, a masterpiece crafted by the proficient Milanese study Hot Lab, are a balanced infusion of warm grey and beige tones, punctuated by bright pops of colours from designer furnishings and stunning artworks. Adding to its contemporary aura is the micro-perforated metal ceiling, artistically lit by sculptural light fixtures.

The yacht’s ’extremely flexible dimensions’ are apparent in its cockpit, designed to accommodate a large tender with a built-in stern crane. Adjoining it is a 10-square-metre swimming pool build with four glass walls, ingeniously filtering natural light into the beach club gym located below.

The sundeck is equipped with a bar, grill, and a 360-degree rotating television. It also features a table that can ingeniously convert into a sunlounger if necessary. With twin CAT C32 engines, the yacht achieves a maximum speed of over 14 knots and boasts a range of over 5,500 nautical miles.

The Big Naan is synonymous with sustainable luxury; a selective catalytic reduction system meeting IMO Tier III emission standards enables it to cruise within marine protected areas. With four superyacht projects underway, Columbus Yachts recently initiated the construction of Big Naan’s larger sibling, the Crossover 47, promising more grandeur and luxury.
