Ares Yachts Launches a Majestic Blend of Sea Heritage and Modern luxury with the 62m Flagship Sailing Yacht Simena

Manifesting the ultimate maritime poise, Ares Yachts has launched its flagship vessel, a majestic 62-metre sailing yacht christened Simena. Constructed at Ares’ facilities in the beautiful coastal city of Antalya, Simena is built to RINA Class C from an innovative blend of steel–carbon composite, with exceptional design contributions from Taka Yacht Design.

Exuding a nostalgic reminiscence of a ‘gentler age of sail’, Simena’s design draws influence from traditional clipper ships, evidenced by its stylish bow complete with a full-rigged bowsprit and trail board. The yacht’s elegance is further emphasised by traditional teak decks and a varnished Sipo mahogany exterior, in a nod to the extensive marine history of the ancient Turkish city.

A walnut and neutral colour palette sets the tone within the vessel, complemented by textured leathers, fabrics brushed with antique brass, patterned tiles, and luxurious Calcutta Oro and Patagonia White marbles. The acclaimed design company, Design Unlimited, has juxtaposed Simena’s classic exteriors with contemporary interiors, achieving ‘clean, relaxed geometry.’

Modern comforts have been seamlessly incorporated into Simena’s design to align with its ‘golden era of yachting’ theme. In line with its clean visuals, television lifts have been subtly positioned within the owner’s suite and saloon. Additionally, guests will have access to a dedicated smartphone application that allows them to interact with the yacht’s AV and entertainment systems.

Underneath her refined exterior lies an impressive power system. Propelled by a set of 220kW electric motors and supported by an 882kW diesel engine, Simena is expected to reach impressive top speeds of up to 15 knots, while maintaining silent operation at a cruising speed of six knots.

Simena’s arrival on the maritime scene exhibits the bold and innovative spirit of Ares Yachts. In addition to this mesmerizing flagship, Ares Yachts is also currently developing a 50-metre Spitfire and a 54-metre explorer yacht, Project Atlas, firmly establishing their position in the superyacht industry.
