Feadship, the renowned Dutch shipyard, partners with FM Architettura and Studio de Voogt to unveil a 75.5-metre yacht concept named Etherea, echoing the symphony of earth.

Dutch shipbuilding powerhouse Feadship is on the industry’s cutting edge once again with their unveiling of a fresh yacht concept - an epic 75.5-metre marvel dubbed Etherea. This design isn’t solo work; it’s cemented in a creative partnership between Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects and the Italian design masterminds at FM Architettura. The latter is a familiar name within Feadship’s halls, having previously collaborated on several builds, including the Somnium, Zen and the newly minted Stella M. Etherea dances with the elemental - pulling inspiration not only from earth, fire, air and water, but also from the so-called ‘fifth element’ - ether. This cryptic force is often considered the thread that weaves through the other four elements, binding and connecting them. Etherea’s design reflects this oneness, boasting a plumb bow, plenty of glass and sweeping lines. This results in a low profile, as eternal as the elements which influenced it, engineered to stand strong in the face of all seasons. In an evolution from previous designs, Etherea stands out as sharper, sleeker. Its split-level design makes for an open, bright sundeck not requiring a bridge deck, allowing generous living spaces within. The use of structural glass and skylights fill each deck with natural light, granting uninterrupted views. Etherea is a continuous flow between solitude and sociability, work and play. The designers took cues from California’s natural beauty, adding a touch of muted, earthy tones and tactile materials. This fluid design harks back to the comfort of home, fostering an environment that doesn’t feel temporary - it is a permanent residence at sea, ‘a true residence on the water’, as Feadship puts it. Finally, what’s under the hood? Two Veth POD CR1250is aim to give Etherea a maximum speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots with an impressive range of 4500 nautical miles. Etherea is more than a concept, it’s a vision. It’s the spirit of voyage meeting the soul of home. It’s Ethereal.
