Discover DYDXL Design Forge's Grand Reveal: A 49m Explorer Yacht Radiating Italian Style and Unrivalled Luxury

Published: 15 Oct 2025
Italian design purveyor, DYDXL Design Forge, has launched its spectacular new 48.8m explorer yacht design, affectionately named 'Awaha 160'.

In a bold exhibition of Italian aesthetics and maritime prowess, DYDXL Design Forge uncovers its latest creation - the Awaha 160. This 48.8m ‘modern explorer’ yacht presents an unapologetic blend of utility and luxury, tantalising the yachting connoisseurs with its Polar Class 7 classification, a volume of 921GT, and spacious storage.

Capable of voyaging through taxing conditions, the Awaha 160 is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion package. This allows it access to protected marine areas with navigation restrictions, extending the yacht’s ability to explore the planet’s most enchanting seas. Accommodations onboard are suitable for up to eight guests and an additional twelve crew members. The latter have private access to the crew quarters and a substantial, independent mess.

Franco Gnessi, the designer and founder of DYDXL’s studio, described the interiors as ’emotional microcosms’ fusing flexibility, elegance, and immersion. His design ethos finds balance between rugged naval architecture and ultra-luxurious interiors. Leisure-focused features include a large lounge, dining area, pool on the main deck, a panoramic upper deck gym, and an alfresco living room styled flybridge boasting a secondary pool, dining area, and bar.

The lower deck garage houses a variety of watercraft and land vehicles, including a 7.5m tender, two snowmobiles, a single-seat submersible, an off-road vehicle, and even quads, canoes, and windsurf boards. A small operational room stands ready for emergencies. The Awaha 160 is driven by two Volvo IPS40 Full Electric Double Engines, each with a power of 1000kW, which allow it to reach a top speed of 17 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
