Casting off from the familiar shores, we chart a course towards Aquila, the world’s trailblazing powercat brand. Birthed in 2012 from the union of China’s formidable Sino Eagle Group and the renowned US dealer MarineMax, Aquila now sets the pace in the realm of multihull experts. With a spectacular million-square-foot production guardhouse in Hangzhou City, China, it leverages industrial efficiency and product development to tip the scales of innovation.
Aquila’s ingenious Florida-based design team unites leading naval architecture firms including J&J Design, VPLP Design, Peart Yacht Design, and Yacht Design Works. Their collaboration has borne fruit, blending traditional big-boat facets into a more accessible market segment. Among Aquila’s standout innovations are its forward steps for unimpeded bridge-to-bow access, patented tender crane system, and bulbous bow designs optimised for efficient travelling.
Extra Yachts, a noted Italian shipyard, is known for its excellence in engineering and artistic craftsmanship. Setting a high benchmark in the yachting world, the company has recently introduced the splendid interior of its newest model, the 33.5-metre X110 Fast. This grand yacht, which stands as the jewel in the crown of the Extra Yachts Fast range, succeeds the X99 Fast and X90 models.
The design language of the X110 Fast is marked by sleek lines and a vertical bow. The superstructure has been ingeniously moved towards the bow, resulting in a spacious, highly usable stern area. The primary focus of the interior concept was to create an environment that is expansive and light, playing with the natural illumination to maximize the use of space. Achieving this has been possible due to the genius of designer Giuseppina Arena who masterfully blended wood, lacquer, and glass.
