As the sun beat down on southern Spain’s sailing capital, a sell-out crowd packed the waterfront for another chapter in what’s become one of the most thrilling seasons in SailGP history. Twelve national teams launched their F50 foiling catamarans into the famous Andalusian chop — 24-metre wings gleaming, grinders primed, and flight controllers braced for the unpredictable Mistral breeze that makes Cádiz one of the toughest venues in the global circuit.

As they had done so many times over the six weeks of racing, Biotherm rose above the chaos to secure the win, confirming themselves as the benchmark of this year’s European tour. Paprec Arkéa crossed second to lock up runner-up overall, while Team Holcim-PRB, led by Rosalin Kuiper, completed both the day’s podium and the season’s top three.
Behind them, the fight raged on. Team Malizia edged out Allagrande Mapei Racing for fourth overall, thanks in part to a standout coastal performance from Canada Ocean Racing – Be Water Positive, who stunned many with a gritty fifth-place finish in Boka Bay.

Less than two months now remain until the start of the 2025 Rolex Fastnet Race, this year coinciding with the Royal Ocean Racing Club's centenary. Another huge fleet has entered. While 2023’s 50th edition of the event, that back in 1925 caused the RORC to be founded, saw a record 430 boats set sail, the 2025 entry list indicates that even this figure may be exceeded when the race starts from Cowes on 26 July, bound for Cherbourg-en-Cotentin via the famous Fastnet Rock off southwest Ireland.
