In a surreal scenario reminiscent of a classic rock hit, a dangerous fire danced upon the water at the Port de Lave in Marseille. The fire’s insatiable appetite decimated three yachts, causing significant damage and raising unavoidable questions about safety on the water. Luckily, no lives were claimed, but with the destruction of valuable properties, the incident serves as a stern reminder of the importance of constant vigilance and fire prevention.

On the evening of January 9th, a massive force of 63 firefighters, 19 vehicles, three firefighting boats, and aerial reconnaissance drones were deployed to tackle the menacing blaze, signifying the scale of the challenge they were up against. A minor spark rapidly transformed into an uncontrollable force, leaping from one yacht to others moored nearby. In the chaos, two of the vessels broke away from their moorings, which further complicated the firefighting efforts.
