This family-run shipyard, originating from the late 1700s, transcends over two centuries with the Amico family repairing boats since 1799. It began with Matteo Amico’s first yard in Loano, and over time, father-to-son transitions ensured remarkable continuity of maritime wisdom, culminating in the establishment of the modern Amico & Co by Alberto Amico in 1991. Back then, the superyacht universe was relatively less bustling, with the global fleet merely brushing the 40-metre mark and a total of 800 to 900 superyachts vis-a-vis today’s 14,000 plus. Not to mention, there were no dedicated refit infrastructures for superyachting.
