A Fierce Blaze Takes Three Yachts at Sydney’s Mosman Marina: Plight, Perseverance, and Prevailing

Mosman’s Spit Marina, a formidable hub for yachts longer than 30 metres on Sydney’s north shore, witnessed a blaze of fury on January 9th. The marina, usually a haven of tranquillity and luxury, was transformed into a panorama of chaos and devastation as the fire took hold of one vessel and then menacingly voyaged to two other adjacent yachts.

In the eerily quiet hours just after 3 am, firefighters were alerted to the calamity unfolding at the harbour. Close to 50 personnel from Fire and Rescue NSW hastily convened at the scene, their ranks bolstered by a firefighting vessel from the Port Authority of NSW. The diligent and arduous efforts of these courageous individuals battled the blaze, who after two and a half tireless hours, managed to suppress the fire.
