Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a charity for young cancer survivors spearheaded by Dame Ellen MacArthur, recently awarded the Volunteer of the Year honour to a tenacious mate. Michael Green, a 62-year-old native of Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, received the accolade at the Trust’s annual volunteer training conference held on 21st March. The Trust compliments Green’s passion for dedicating his ‘whole heart’ to the cause, proving that commendation and applause are not his driving forces. Green, a marine industry professional, has been making monumental strides in the lives of young people since he began his philanthropic journey with the charity back in 2017.
