Celebrating five decades of the Corinthian spirit, 50 years of camaraderie, and half a century of astonishing bluewater adventure, the Marion Bermuda Race sails into its 50th jubilee. The highly esteemed sailing institution has significantly impacted the community since its inaugural race back in 1977. The 645-nautical mile journey, heralded as "every sailor’s ocean race," has welcomed generations of skippers, crews, and families while also providing an exciting challenge for first-time oceangoers.
Skipping heartily towards this remarkable milestone, the event is slated for the 18th of June, 2027. Early registration, open to both seasoned sailors and those preparing for their first voyage, is already making waves. Whether firm in your intent to participate or merely weighing the prospect of joining, the call of the ocean urges you to plot your course for Bermuda.
The Bermuda Race, a marquee event in the global sailing calendar, is turning a century old. In preparation for the grand celebration, the Bermuda Race Organising Committee (BROC) has held its annual meeting at the RBYC in Hamilton. This gathering served up a vibrant mixture of face-to-face and virtual brainstorming sessions, packed with energy and anticipation for the forthcoming anniversary.
“The Bermuda Race is always an extraordinary spectacle,” enthused Race Chair, Andrew Kallfelz. “We are amplifying that resonance in 2026 to mark a century of partnership and camaraderie embodying the quintessence of yacht racing. Every BROC member came equipped with brilliant ideas and spirited fervour to make this race a crowd-puller for posterity.”
