First Day Thrills at Subic Regatta 2026 and Antigua Racing Cup Dimension
This year, the maritime world ignited with excitement as both the Subic Regatta 2026 and Antigua Racing Cup 2026 commences concurrently. Rushing tacks, majestic spectacles, and adrenaline-pumping competition, it was indeed a thrilling start to these celebrated events.
In the Subic Regatta, participants were treated to an uncanny blend of rivalry and gentlemanliness, exemplified by an incident involving competing yachts. A substantial crunch reverberated, indicating a run-in between Centennial III and Belatrix, in an attempt to secure the pin end.
Accommodating an eclectic mix of Cruiser and Multihull divisions, the race course was a spectacle to behold. A combined start allowed all competitors to compete simultaneously, setting their course towards Baretto before returning south. The IRC race’s line honours went to Ridgely Balladares, who commanded Centennial VII, while Selma Star arrived over half an hour later, showcasing the rough-and-tumble nature of competitive sailing.
This International racing pulse was escalating even further with Adrian Lee’s HH66 Catamaran doggedly racing to the head of the fleet. Generating speeds of over 20 knots, the catamaran showcased an enthralling combination of speed, power, and elegance. Furthermore, Dan Gribble navigated his Tripp 65 Custom Prevail to victory in the big boat class, underlining the event’s’ intense competition.
Racing in the Subic Regatta and the Antigua Racing Cup’s first day proved to be a thrilling display of mind, power, and spirit. Each event showcases not only the raw power of the yachts and the technique of the sailors, but also the sense of adventure that defines the world of sea racing. Without a doubt, the days to come are eagerly awaited, promising even more thrilling contests, testing the mettle of both man and machine against the wild, blue expanse of the sea.
