iQFOiL Sailboarding Senior European Championship Peers Towards High Stakes Medal Series Showdown
The clock is ticking down to a thrilling climax at the iQFOiL Senior European Championship held in the scenic Sferracavallo. On what was meant to be the penultimate day of racing, light and unstable winds made competition impossible. The forecast had failed to deliver, the Gulf of Palermo remained tranquil, and no races could be held across any fleet. As a result, the standings from the end of the qualification series lasted into the next day, cementing the top ten competitors in both the men’s and women’s categories for the upcoming, high-stakes Medal Series.
Keeping their eyes on the prize are athletes such as Nicolas Goyard from France, Finn Hawkins from Britain, and Tom Reuveny from Israel, among others, in the men’s category. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Emma Wilson from Britain, Daniela Peleg from Israel, and Marta Maggetti from Italy, among others, are prepared to duke it out.
With the line-up set for the Medal Series, tension is high as the winds are hoped to be more favourable. An exciting day ensues, with the championship of Europe hanging in the balance.
