European Sailors Outclass International Competition, Dominating the ILCA 4 Youth World Championships 2025

The 2025 ILCA 4 Youth World Championships came to an exciting end off the Californian coast. The theatre of competitive sailing was on full display over six adventurous days where European sailors dominated the medal tally. Displaying tactical knowledge, perseverance, and superior skill, these athletes asserted Europe’s status as a premier hub of youth sailing talent. With a tremendous record, European sailors won all four gold medals and secured an astounding nine of twelve available podium places across both age divisions and genders in this illustrious competition.

In the Under 16 category, Turkey’s Derin Bartan and France’s Nathan Wehrle were imperious. Bartan also secured the commendable third place overall in the Girls’ fleet, while Wehrle ranked fifth among the Boys.
