After a season's absence, Team Leeloo racks up a stunning last-minute surge to clinch the Picasso Cup held in stunning Kristinehamn.

The highly anticipated M32 sailing series witnessed a spectacular comeback thriller as Team Leeloo seized a nail-biting victory at the fabled Picasso Cup in the tranquil setting of Kristinehamn. The Dutch crew, with their experienced skipper Harold Vermeulen at the helm, proved that they have lost none of their mettle. Despite their hiatus, they triumphed in a breathtaking final showdown, sending ripples of excitement throughout the sailing community.

Typifying the true spirit of M32 racing, the competition was fierce right up to the final moments. The scoreboard teetered on the brink of predictability as Team Leeloo sparred with top-flight adversaries, including Team Liros, skippered by Youth America’s Cup savvy Oscar Engström, and the previous Picasso Cup champions, The Vikings, captained by M32 veteran Håkan Svensson.

An added pull to the circuit is the individuality of the Picasso Cup. This event provides fully rigged boats, allowing international teams to sidestep the cumbersome process of shipping their gear. Entrants simply turn up, step onto their assigned vessels, and compete. As if plucked from a storybook, this happened amidst the picture-perfect archipelago of Kristinehamn during the celebrated Archipelago Festival, an event that brings together sport, food, and music. For a week, summer and sailing synergized in a celebration of cultural and maritime tradition.
