Dive into the Rush of the Waves: YC Costa Smeralda's Thrilling 2026 Season of High-Stakes Regattas and Historic Returns Awaits!
The year 2026 promises a storm surge of excitement for sailing aficionados. Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) revealed its sports program in Milan to an audience of over 200 guests. Casually known as the Costa Smeralda, the deep blue waters of the Yacht Club have become a premier stage for world sailing, encompassing international projects and events that concentrate on the next wave of sailing talents.
YC Costa Smeralda’s president, Princess Zahra Aga Khan, opened the proceedings, reminding us of the club’s origins in 1967 under the leadership of her father, the Aga Khan IV. Zahra emphasized the YCCS’s consistent representation as an international standard in sailing, honoring a path paved by shared values of innovation, excellence, sea respect, and promoting future talents.
Spring’s program will usher in excitement with the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, scheduled for late May. This regatta will open the Mediterranean superyacht racing season, with several yachts and participants already expressing interest. The season will kick off in late April with the one-design Cape 31 class’s debut in Porto Cervo, an event marked with anticipation and exhilaration.
The Sardinia Cup’s awaited return, on hiatus for 14 years, will occur from the end of May into early June. This event underscores team spirit and club affiliation, rejuvenating a sense of belonging preserved within every yacht club. All in all, the YCCS’s 2026 season is set to make exciting waves in the world of sailing.
